HOW TO BUY A PROPERTY IN LATVIA
Foreign NATURAL persons and LEGAL entities can buy a property in Latvia.
Natural persons – citizens of EU Member States and citizens of the countries of the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and the Member States of the organization of Economic Co-operation and Development.
Legal persons – a capital company registered in the Republic of Latvia, capital company registered in another European Union Member State or country of the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, or Member State of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development which, in accordance with laws and regulations, is a taxpayer in the Republic of Latvia.
There are some restrictions on acquisition of agriculture land for foreigners. Approval is required from the local municipality: persons who are not EU citizens and who wish to buy a property in Latvia have to receive an approval from local municipality.
